Following the recent release of their album ‘Visuals’, Mew have unveiled the video for new single taken from the album, ‘In A Better Place’.
Directed by singer, Jonas Bjerre, the visual accompaniment exudes the ethereal pop surrealism that pervades the track, as he cryptically explains;
“This video tells the tale of the magic mountain creature and his followers, performing their ritual dance, in the ever-changing world of the pink planet.”
Bjerre, who creates the visuals for all of the band’s artwork and merchandise and has directed several Mew videos, has conceived and designed the stage production for the band’s upcoming tour dates. Based around the concept of “Visuals”, projections and videos, produced expressly for this tour, along with special lighting and other effects, will set the stage for Mew’s captivating and majestic music.
Some feed back from the critics:
“Visuals is as good as anything they’ve done and different in its approach. Pop writing at its finest” – 9/10 Louder Than War
“This seventh studio outing is a victory, not only within itself but also as a declaration of how strong and special Mew remains” – 8/10 Pop Matters
“Visuals spatter Mew’s art-rock sensibilities on a pop canvas” – 4/5 Q
