Jeremy Loops today releases ‘Gold’ as the next single from his album ‘Critical As Water’. The single release is also accompanied with the release of the music video for ‘Gold’, a beautiful story with an unexpected turn.
Speaking on the song and its video, directed by Rob Smith, Jeremy Loops said: “Gold is first and foremost a love song, but more than that it’s about finding meaning and purpose you’ve previously struggled to attain. It’s really a song of hope that if you continue to work at that which your heart desires with an honest and open attitude, one day eventually those desires will be realised.”
The third single off of ‘Critical As Water’, following after Waves and Freak, ‘Gold’ sets the tone for the album with a rousing call-and-response chorus that’s bold and hopeful, against what often feels like insurmountable odds. This battle of staving off hopeless against daunting odds, weaves together an album that feels like a repeated release from the many pressures society places on us.
Loops leapt into 2018 with the massive hit single ‘Waves’ and the release of his Critical As Water album which was supported with a world tour, seeing Loops reaching over 50,000 fans internationally and headlining a sold out show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.
Recently, the incredible news that he will perform a once-off headline show at the iconic Roundhouse in London on 16 February, 2019 was announced. The first South African musician to do so since the venue reopened in 2006. The venue is one of the most renowned art houses in the world. The 172-year-old institution, with a 3500-person capacity, has played host to legends of music, including The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, and The Ramones, while contemporary stars like Radiohead and Bon Iver have called The Roundhouse home for their headline shows in London too.
