Three weeks before the release of his new studio album, Grammy award winner Joe Henry premieres his brand new single “River Floor”.
“River Floor” captures the essence of Joe Henry: well-crafted songs combined with his great, weightless art of performing and producing. The song mirrors the simple, yet exhilarating mood of Thrum, an intimate and relaxed album imbued with inventiveness and unforgettable songs.
On Thrum, Henry is joined by several trusted long-time musical co-conspirators – drummer Jay Bellerose, bassist David Piltch, pianist Patrick Warren, guitarist John Smith, and his multi-intsrumentalist son Levon Henry. The album was recorded and mixed ‘live’ to stereo tape by Ryan Freeland at United Recording, Studio B; Hollywood, CA. Henry and the band met twice, for two days each in February and March 2017.
Henry, who also took upon the role as producer, managed to create a remarkable album with an extraordinary recording approach. The album is set for an October 27, 2017 release on CD, Digital, and 180-gram 2xLP.
