New Model Army have shared the video to their single “Where I Am”, taken from their latest charting album “From Here”.
This time New Model Army decided to use a sequence of stills by photographer John Sevigny to create an intense and moving video full of small stories.
Justin Sullivan, founder of the band, singer and principal songwriter commented: “John Sevigny is an old friend who has spent 20 years taking extraordinary portrait photographs, mostly in Central America. His pictures are incredibly alive and his subjects display an embrace of life combined with a certain attitude. They work perfectly with everything we wanted to say in the song.”
The band begin their European tour in support of their brand new album “From Here”, described by Record Collector as “powerful, majestic, positive and ultimately uplifting (4/5)”, and is their highest ever charting album in Germany (6), UK (13) and Switzerland (19), this evening in Southampton.

Justin states: “We’re really looking forward to playing the songs live for the first time, knowing that by Christmas, they will have developed a life of their own. And with everything that’s happening in the World these days, gigs seem generally more charged as if people need these kinds of gatherings more than ever.”
Almost 40 years since the start of their remarkable journey, New Model Army have established a fervent worldwide fanbase and reached multiple milestones of both creative and commercial success. At the heart of the band, Justin Sullivan has retained a distinct and sincere belief in the power of music to inspire and effect change on a personal and political scale, both locally and globally.
With the band’s hugely acclaimed albums Between Dog And Wolf (2013) and Winter (2016) bringing renewed critical appreciation, chart success and an ever-growing audience of new fans to join the legion of faithful devotees, New Model Army return in 2019 with one of the finest records of their career.
“From Here” was recorded earlier this year on the tiny Norwegian island of Giske at the beautiful Ocean Sound Recordings studio and reflects the spectacular isolation of that environment yet has profound messages for the world we all live in and the times we are experiencing.
