Enormously talented, Phuzekhemisi broke onto the Maskandi scene with the track Imbizo, from his first album of the same name. The track was, and still is, one of the biggest Maskandi hits to ever be recorded and is known as an anthem of the genre.
His lyrics are infused with commentary and political outspokenness over issues that affect South Africans. Phuzekhemisi is very happy to be back working with Gallo after being with Gallo for 20 years previously. The Multi-platinum award wining Phuzekheimi is back with a new album.
The first single of the album is #Sikhokha Njalo a song directed at government, mocking everything that is wrong with service delivery and the capitalist system, saying things like we are always paying but electricity still gets switched off.
On “Track 4, Ziyaduma” true to Maskandi showmanship, the song is a self-praise of sort and speaks of how when Phuza gets to the Ghetto, it “POP’S”. Saying the Ghetto always “Pop’s” when we arrive.
Phuzekemisi joined hands with the legendary, artist, come producer of Studio 12 ,Thami Mduli. Studio 12 is over 20 years old and has produced award winning and platinum selling artist like Rebecca, Berita, Babsy Mlangeni, IPCC, Bhekimuzi Luthuli and many others.
The album is field with gems or should we rather say, HIT AFTER HIT.
